Your new role includes:

  • Surgical Responsibilities:
    • Ensuring proper cleaning of instruments in line with infection control and biohazard standards.
    • Operating and maintaining autoclave equipment.
    • Setting up surgical trays efficiently.
    • Identifying and managing instruments utilized in our clinic.
    • Preparing and dismantling rooms for IV anesthesia and surgical procedures.
    • Welcoming patients and conducting pre-operative setups.
    • Reviewing patient charts thoroughly.
    • Setting up nitrous oxide equipment.
    • Positioning restraints appropriately.
    • Assisting with airway management for sedated patients.
    • Employing techniques to calm patients.
    • Circulating and retrieving surgical instruments as needed.
    • Monitoring patients after anesthesia.
    • Assessing the need for medical consultations.
    • Understanding emergency protocols and operating emergency equipment.
    • Conducting routine maintenance on instruments and equipment.
    • Delivering exceptional patient care.
  • Non-Surgical Responsibilities:
    • Familiarity with all necessary forms and informational handouts.
    • Adhering to OSHA regulations regarding personal protection.
    • Greeting patients warmly to ensure their comfort.
    • Handling administrative duties such as appointment scheduling, filing, and charting.
    • Conducting patient consultations effectively.
    • Providing clear discharge instructions.
    • Making follow-up calls to patients.
    • Performing X-rays and scans as required.
    • Documenting EMR notes for various appointments and procedures.
    • Managing daily office operations, including equipment checks.
    • Supporting colleagues as necessary.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Assistant program.
  • Certification as a Surgical Assistant.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
  • Dental X-ray license preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Capability to provide outstanding patient care in high-pressure situations.
  • Consistent professionalism in demeanor and appearance.

Job Type: Full-time

Compensation: $25.00 per hour
