Join our team of dedicated professionals at the Norridge Park District as a Gymnastics Instructor. We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic individual to teach gymnastics classes to children of all ages.
Job Summary:The Gymnastics Instructor will be responsible for planning, teaching, and instructing gymnastics classes to preschool and recreational students. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in gymnastics, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work with children of all ages.
Key Responsibilities:- Teach gymnastics classes to preschoolers aged 3-5 and recreational students aged 6 and up.
- Evaluate participant skill progress and provide feedback.
- Maintain equipment and gymnastics facility.
- Prepare and deliver class lesson plans that meet gymnastics program standards.
- Spot participants on gymnastics equipment and tumbling skills.
- Provide class leadership and ensure a safe and fun learning environment.
- Perform office/clerical tasks as necessary.
- Prepare incident and accident reports.
- Prepare and coach assistant instructors.
- Teach parent and tot gymnastics classes for age 2-3 years.
- Teach tumbling, trampoline, cheer, and other gymnastics-related programs upon request.
- Assist with the monitoring of first aid supplies and equipment for the gymnastics center.
- Maintain knowledge of and follow all Federal, State, Local, and Park District safety regulations.
- Maintain a complete understanding of the Park District emergency action plan.
- Communicate any program deviations to immediate supervisor and customer service staff.
- Available nights and weekends as needed.
- Attend staff meetings as needed or requested.
- Perform other projects as assigned.
- 1+ years of gymnastics coaching experience and team experience.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Certification in advanced Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), First Aid, and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) within 3 months of employment.
- Ability to work with and instruct children.
- Ability to multi-task workload.

- Ability to respond to problems or stressful situations at all times and with good judgment and accuracy.
- Ability to follow directions and work with limited supervision.
- Ability to convey a favorable Park District image with the media, partner organizations, and the public.
- Ability to work effectively with entire District staff, works with a variety of people and personalities, and maintains a positive working relationship with other employees.
- Establishes and maintains the highest standards of ethical conduct.
$18-$30 per hour
