Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Laredo College, TX. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and promoting a healthy environment for our students.
Job Summary:The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing direct patient care, implementing health services programs, and promoting health and wellness initiatives. This is a full-time position that requires a strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide direct patient care to students, including assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care.
- Implement health services programs, including health screenings, vaccinations, and health education.
- Develop and maintain health records, including medical histories, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, students, and staff to ensure seamless care and communication.
- Participate in health promotion activities, including health fairs, workshops, and educational programs.
- Supervise and train healthcare staff, including LVNs, Health Assistants, and students.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited professional nursing education program.
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice professional nursing in Texas issued by the State Board of Nurse Examiners.
- Valid CPR certification.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Valid Texas Driver's License and reliable transportation.
- Work experience in a community college setting or similar field.
- Work experience in a medical office or clinical setting.
- Prior office work experience.
- Information technology skills necessary to perform essential job requirements.
- Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with administrators, faculty, staff, and students.
- Standard nursing procedures and techniques.
- Multitasking and working cooperatively with others.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
- Use and manage an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
This position is located in a standard office environment with occasional exposure to a well-lighted and air-conditioned area. The noise level is usually quiet to moderate. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Supervision:This position reports to the Director of Health and Wellness and exercises supervision over LVNs, Health Assistants, and students.
