Job Title: Registered Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Laredo College, TX. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and promoting a healthy environment for our students.

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing direct patient care, implementing health services programs, and promoting health and wellness initiatives. This is a full-time position that requires a strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care to students, including assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care.
  • Implement health services programs, including health screenings, vaccinations, and health education.
  • Develop and maintain health records, including medical histories, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, students, and staff to ensure seamless care and communication.
  • Participate in health promotion activities, including health fairs, workshops, and educational programs.
  • Supervise and train healthcare staff, including LVNs, Health Assistants, and students.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
Requirements:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited professional nursing education program.
  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice professional nursing in Texas issued by the State Board of Nurse Examiners.
  • Valid CPR certification.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Work experience in a community college setting or similar field.
  • Work experience in a medical office or clinical setting.
  • Prior office work experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Information technology skills necessary to perform essential job requirements.
  • Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with administrators, faculty, staff, and students.
  • Standard nursing procedures and techniques.
  • Multitasking and working cooperatively with others.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
  • Use and manage an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
Work Environment:

This position is located in a standard office environment with occasional exposure to a well-lighted and air-conditioned area. The noise level is usually quiet to moderate. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Supervision:

This position reports to the Director of Health and Wellness and exercises supervision over LVNs, Health Assistants, and students.
