Role Summary
This position represents the initial tier of professional sales engineering at Belmark. The role involves supporting the sales process by identifying suitable products or designs to address customer needs promptly and efficiently. Responsibilities include assisting clients in selecting products tailored to their specific requirements, modifying products for unique applications, and providing training on product usage. Additionally, the role may require intervention when customers or manufacturing face challenges with product reliability. Travel to client facilities is primarily focused on acquiring new accounts and ensuring repeat business with existing clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide sales teams and clients in defining end-use specifications.
- Conduct competitive assessments to recommend optimal materials that fulfill customer needs.
- Identify the most efficient manufacturing processes to leverage internal capabilities effectively.
- Determine the size, shape, design, and tooling specifications for new projects.
- Create, update, and oversee material/converting specifications and testing methodologies.
- Manage daily project workflows with precision, speed, and customer service.
- Collaborate with suppliers to test and validate new materials in both internal and client processes.
- Promote standardization of materials and processes to enhance customer service.
- Support quality enhancement initiatives and corrective action plan resolutions.
- Provide technical assistance during the sales process, which may involve occasional overnight travel with or without company representatives.
- Assess risks and liabilities associated with business decisions to mitigate potential losses.
- Maintain awareness of how material and process choices can influence efficiency, waste, and overall costs.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and foster a culture of food safety by complying with Safe Quality Foods standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the manager.

Essential Qualifications:
- Proficient in the English language.
- Regular attendance is crucial for this role.
- Ability to quickly assimilate and apply new information regarding materials and manufacturing techniques.

- A Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering or technology field or five years of relevant experience in packaging/converting.
- Ability to communicate effectively for 90% of work time.
- Physical capability to stand and walk for 25% of work time.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds for 20% of work time.
- Visual acuity to see clearly at various distances and distinguish colors.
Work Environment:
- Standard office setting.
