Role Description
The New York Public Library is seeking a skilled Librarian II to provide expert reference services, develop educational programs, and contribute to the development of our collections. As a member of the Map Division team, you will collaborate with colleagues to deliver exceptional public service, develop and implement strategic initiatives, and utilize your expertise in cartography or geography to support the learning and research needs of users.

Responsibilities
- Develop and teach classes for the public and educational and cultural institutions
- Create and update online content, including blog posts, research guides, and educational materials
- Support collection description activities, including copy cataloging in OCLC
- Participate in outreach and instruction activities to promote the use of our collections
- Maintain a personal program of continuous education and professional development

Requirements and Qualifications
- ALA-accredited Master's Degree in Library and Information Studies
- Undergraduate degree in the Humanities or Social Sciences
- Demonstrated knowledge of cartography or geography through academic background or equivalent training or expertise
- One or more years of research library experience or relevant internship experience
- Excellent public service skills and ability to work well in a fast-paced environment

Salary and Benefits
- Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 per year, depending on experience
