Job SummaryWe're seeking a highly skilled Medical Support Specialist to join our team at our state-of-the-art plasma donation facility in Harlem, NY. As a Medical Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, and reviewing laboratory test results.
Key Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility accurately and in a timely manner, including proper management of informed consent, medical history interview, and physical examination.
- Manage donor deferral, reviewing test results and notifying donors of unsuitable test results.
- Initiate and investigate Post Donation Information (PDI) and refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs as needed.
- Assist the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) program as required, including conducting pre-placement evaluations of new hires and supporting the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs.
- Currently licensed or certified in the state where duties will be assigned: Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA).
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification required.
- Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Minimum of two years in a clinical or hospital setting preferred.
