Machinist Apprentice

Mate Precision Technologies is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Machinist Intern to join our team. As a Machinist Intern, you will have the opportunity to work with various machines and learn to operate manual and CNC machines within our department. You will also be responsible for inspecting products using measuring devices and performing basic machine maintenance duties.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and run various machines to produce high-quality products.
• Inspect work using gaging and inspection devices to ensure conformance to specifications.
• Perform basic machine maintenance duties, including oiling and greasing, emptying waste wire and chips, and cleaning tanks.
• Meet productivity and quality expectations and strive for continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with others to achieve delivery objectives and participate in continuous improvement and lean activities.

Requirements:

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Current enrollment in a CNC Technology program at a post-secondary technical college is required.
• A good attitude and self-motivation are essential for success in this role.
• Good mechanical aptitude and basic computer skills are required.
• A willingness to learn new machining skills is necessary.

Work Environment:

• Frequent walking and standing are required.
• Occasional bending and stooping may be necessary.
• The noise level is moderate, and occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles may occur.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Starting pay is $23/hour, plus an additional $1/hour shift differential.
