Job Title: Swim Instructor

At the YMCA of East Tennessee, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Swim Instructor to join our team. As a Swim Instructor, you will be responsible for providing high-quality swimming lessons to students of all ages and skill levels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement engaging and effective swimming lesson plans that meet the needs of our students.
  • Provide individualized instruction and feedback to students to help them improve their swimming skills.
  • Build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to create a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to stay up-to-date on the latest teaching methods and YMCA policies.
Requirements:
  • One to three months of experience in swim instruction is required.
  • Must be able to swim and demonstrate techniques being taught.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or scheduled form.
Work Environment:

The Swim Instructor will work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with regular exposure to wet and humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately loud.
