The Radiology Practitioner Assistant is a skilled healthcare professional who works under the supervision of radiologists to provide diagnostic and therapeutic radiology services.

- Perform patient assessments, including medical history review, vital signs measurement, and assessment of procedural risks.
- Review and analyze imaging studies to identify abnormalities or areas of concern.
- Assist in the interpretation of images, highlighting relevant findings for radiologists' review.
- Maintain accurate and complete medical records, documenting patient information, procedures performed, and any pertinent observations or findings.
- Ensure the quality and accuracy of radiological images by adhering to established protocols, positioning techniques, and safety standards.
- Participate in quality assurance initiatives to optimize imaging outcomes.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of imaging equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or issues to appropriate personnel for timely resolution.
- Adhere to radiation safety protocols and guidelines to minimize radiation exposure to patients, staff, and oneself.
- Educate patients on radiation risks and safety measures.
- Stay abreast of advancements in radiology technology, procedures, and regulations through ongoing education and professional development activities.
- Collaborate with radiologists, other healthcare providers, and support staff to facilitate efficient patient care delivery and promote interdisciplinary teamwork.
- Graduate of an accredited Radiology Practitioner Assistant or Radiology Practitioner Assistant program.
- Certification as a Radiology Practitioner Assistant and/or a Registered Radiology Assistant.
- Current registration with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with certification in Radiography.
- Valid licensure as required by state or regional regulatory agencies.
The Radiology Practitioner Assistant must be able to stand, stoop, and lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and must be able to see, hear, speak, write, and key for extended periods.
