\Job Description\Radiation Oncology Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVTs) work closely with our veterinary teams to provide high-quality patient care. This role requires critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask within a strong team environment.
\- Assist in patient procedures using knowledge of anesthesia and analgesia related protocols and procedures.
- Intravenous catheter placement, endotracheal intubation, and anesthetic equipment use and maintenance.
- Thorough understanding of anesthetic considerations and how comorbidities affect case protocol and perioperative management.
- Monitor anesthesia, troubleshoot anesthetic complications, and make appropriate interventions.
- Continuous expansion of knowledge and skillset; advanced anesthetic skills include arterial line placement, epidurals, difficult airway intubation, and critical case management.
This role involves managing appointments, obtaining histories, medical record keeping, invoicing, patient discharges, and organizing daily service flow. Ensuring accurate and complete documentation is also essential.
\Required Skills and Qualifications\To be successful in this role, you will need:
\- A State Registered Veterinary Technician license.
- Prior veterinary experience required; previous oncology experience desired.
- Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.).
- Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
