CAD Operator Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CAD Operator to join our team at Aldridge Electric. This role is responsible for providing accurate and timely drawings and schedules for projects, as well as maintaining high levels of productivity and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate intermediate to advanced AutoCAD functions to create and edit drawings and schedules.
  • Use BobCad software for CNC machining purposes and operate large document scanning equipment.
  • Work in a Windows environment and operate Microsoft Excel to analyze and present data.
  • Report to work ready to perform assigned tasks by using established safe work practices and report all unsafe behaviors and/or conditions to your supervisor immediately.
  • Participate in all required safety training and maintain a strong understanding of construction standards, including ANSI, NEC, IBC, and OSHA.

Requirements:
  • Associate degree or equivalent experience (2-5 years) in a related field, such as electrical drafting or engineering.
  • Knowledge of proper drafting practices and electrical drafting experience preferred.
  • Ability to work with all levels of staff and communicate effectively.
  • General understanding of construction standards and ability to understand construction documents.
  • Formal reading and writing skills and ability to understand and follow instructions.
