Role Responsibilities:

Execute a variety of patient care tasks as directed by the registered nurse or physician, adhering to nursing policies and procedures.
Measure and record vital signs.
Conduct specific tests such as pregnancy tests, urinalysis, and hemocults tailored to the patient demographic.
Document all facets of patient care in accordance with hospital protocols.
Perform phlebotomy tasks.
Assist in specimen collection, ensuring proper labeling and logging in line with hospital standards.
Carry out additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required:
A completed High School diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
A current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
Experience in phlebotomy is essential.
Background in a community health environment.
Completion of a certified medical assistant program recognized by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to prioritize and organize tasks effectively.
Proficient in PC applications, including Excel and Microsoft Word, as well as familiarity with OASIS and EPIC systems.
Experience with computerized appointment scheduling.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage stress effectively.
Demonstrated skill in handling sensitive interactions with discretion and courtesy when engaging with patients, colleagues, and physicians.
Physical capability to perform tasks involving stocking, lifting, and transporting supplies and instruments.
Position Information:
Job Type: Full Time (1.0 FTE)
Shift: Days – 10-hour shifts

In this role, you will typically work around 40 hours per week during the day shift, scheduled between 7:30 AM and 6:00 PM, without on-call shifts. You will primarily be assigned to the Hyde Park Clinic, working Monday through Friday.
Compliance with UCMC's COVID-19 Vaccination requirement is mandatory for employment. Proof of vaccination must be provided during the pre-employment process, alongside compliance with the Flu Vaccination requirement. Medical and religious exemptions will be considered in accordance with applicable laws. A pre-employment physical, drug screening, and background check are also prerequisites for all new hires.
