Akron Children's Hospital is seeking a Senior Medical Technologist to lead our laboratory team. This role will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, providing technical expertise, and ensuring the highest level of quality in patient care.

About the Role

The Senior Medical Technologist will assist in the organization and oversight of work activities under general supervision. Key responsibilities include performing staff Medical Technologist duties, collecting and processing biological specimens, and providing technical assistance and training to staff and students.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist, preferably with recent experience in multiple laboratory disciplines.
  • Proficiency in MS Office or similar software.
  • A Bachelor's degree in coursework defined by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent.
  • Certification or eligibility for certification by ASCP at the MT/MLS level or grandfather at the MT/MLS level prior to 2004.
  • At least 2-3 years of relevant experience, with 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience. Full-time employees receive a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
