Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team at General Dynamics Information Technology. As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing complex systems and networks for our government clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform high-level systems analysis, evaluation, design, integration, documentation, and implementation of complex systems and networks.
  • Direct and participate in all phases of system development, with emphasis on planning, analysis, evaluation, integration, testing, and acceptance phases.
  • Apply higher-level business or technical principles and methods to very difficult technical problems to arrive at automated engineering solutions.
  • Design and prepare technical reports and related documentation, and make charts and graphs to record results.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations and briefings as required by the task order.
  • Analyze customer requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level network architectures to develop customer-specific requirements and specifications.
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously from design to implementation.
  • Guide users in formulating requirements, advise alternative approaches, and conduct feasibility studies.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to other technical team members and coworkers in other departments.
  • Maintain current knowledge and understanding of best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to government systems.
  • Develop and maintain network architecture, network design documentation, and solutions for continuous improvement of ACIC systems architecture.
  • Develop and design an implementation plan that meets the customer's requirements.
  • Interact with the government regarding network engineering technical considerations and for associated problems.
  • Responsible for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Network Engineering area of responsibility.
  • Communicate with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives effectively.
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate networks, identify issues, and provide solutions to ensure networks are operating efficiently.
  • Act as lead in defining and executing systems engineering activities within a project. Provide comprehensive definition of all aspects of network development from analysis of mission needs to verification of network performance.
  • Ensure efficient delivery of contract capabilities using industry standards and repeatable processes.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma/GED with 10 years of related experience, or Associate's Degree with 8 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree with 6 years of experience.
  • Required Skillset:
    • Mitigate risks, controls costs, and schedule variance, and effectively manages large-scale, integrated projects.
    • Review and/or approve system engineering documentation to ensure that processes and specifications meet system needs and are accurate, comprehensive, and complete.
    • Establish and follow a formal procedure for coordinating system integration activities among multiple teams, ensuring complete coverage of all interfaces.
    • Capture all interface designs in a common interface control format, and store interface data in a commonly accessible repository.
  • Clearance Level: TS/SCI.
  • Required Certification(s):
    • DoD M IAT Level II/8140 Computing Environment (CE) Certification as determined by the Program Manager is required prior to support on contract.
    • IAT II 8570/8140 Baseline Certification Security+ or equivalent.
    • Computing Env: MCSA Server 2016 (You can start with the first exam completed and must obtain the full MCSA Server 2016 within 180 days from start date.)
    • Desired Computing Environment certification: MCSA 2016/2019/Azure, Linux+, VCP-DCV, etc.
  • Location: On Customer Site.
  • Additional:
    • Candidates must be willing and able to attain a CI Polygraph for certain positions as determined by the contract.
    • Position may require lifting of objects (i.e. IT Hardware), reaching/bending/kneeling (i.e. plug in cables) and other moderately strenuous activity.
    • Travel may be required to support the mission.
