**Position Summary**

The Helicopter Maintenance Specialist II for the MH60-R (Helicopter Aircrew) fulfills all qualifications and executes the responsibilities of a Functional Check Aircrew member. This role involves in-flight tasks and support to Maintenance Test Pilots, adhering to established standards set by the Navy, Force, and Company based on specific assignments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Serve as flight crew as designated, either in-flight or on the ground during daytime operations, including day or night shifts.

- Conduct in-flight monitoring, troubleshooting, adjustments, and repairs in accordance with current protocols.

- Execute aircraft functional checks, including but not limited to run-ups and magnetic compass swings, as necessary.

- Utilize tracking and balancing instruments, hoists, dollies, cranes, and specialized tools and testing equipment essential for fulfilling functional assignments.

- Carry out all Aircraft Mechanic responsibilities when not engaged in Flight Mechanic duties.

- Operate aircraft towing apparatus during towing operations.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

- Operate motor vehicles, machinery, and specialized equipment as required by job responsibilities.

- Perform routine cleaning, preservation, and maintenance on vehicles, tools, and equipment. Maintain cleanliness in the immediate work area.

- Ensure that tools and equipment utilized in the role are properly calibrated.

- Attend training sessions and classes as designated by the Company for employees in the assigned classification.

- Employ approved methods in executing job responsibilities.

- Assume the responsibilities of lower classified employees within the career progression when assigned.

- Complete and maintain records and reports as mandated by job assignments.

- Demonstrate job procedures and assist in training new employees within the classification as required.

- Perform imaging technology functions (scanning and related tasks) as required by job responsibilities.

- Dispose of hazardous materials associated with job assignments.

- Execute duties utilizing automated equipment and software pertinent to the functional assignment.

- May remove and reinstall cowlings, panels, and fairings to access work areas within the classification.

- When assigned to the flight line, provide customer support during launch and recovery and ensure aircraft security as needed.

- Carry out all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Requirements:

- Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds, continuous sitting while using computer terminals, constant visual engagement while reviewing documents, and ongoing communication abilities are essential.

- Must demonstrate mental alertness, possess planning and organizational skills, handle Hazmat, and work effectively under deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) with a minimum of 5 years of experience.

- Must be Mission/Design/Series (MDS) qualified or possess at least 4 years of experience in the classification for the applicable MDS/MH60-R.

- Completion of Naval Aircrew school and MH60-R Fleet Replacement Squadron (FRS) training school is required.

- Must meet training requirements as mandated by the US Navy and other relevant military instructions.

- Ability to obtain and maintain a US government Common Access Card (CAC) and a favorably adjudicated Tier 3 Background Investigation (Secret Clearance may be required).

- Valid state driver's license is required.

- Must meet physical requirements and pass medical examinations as necessary.

- Flexibility to work all shifts; full-time employment is not guaranteed at 40 hours per week.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Must hold or have the ability to obtain an FAA Medical Certificate as required by the Government.

- Maintain a class II swim qualification and complete Aviation Physiology and Water Survival Qualification.

- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

- Must qualify and maintain currency for Maintenance Operational Checks (MOCs) and run-ups as needed.

- Accurately complete maintenance documentation using Integrated Maintenance Data System (IMDS) and required forms.

- Must show proficiency in IMDS within 90 days of assignment.

- One year of documented aircraft maintenance experience on the MH-60R Model aircraft is required.

- May be required to provide on-the-job training (OJT) to newly assigned personnel.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

- Valid state driver's license required when necessary for job assignments.

- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and government background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with MH60-R.
