Position Title: Pediatric Pulmonology Academic Position at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry

The University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, in collaboration with Golisano Children's Hospital at Strong, is seeking a committed professional to fill the role of an academic pediatric pulmonologist within the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology and the Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Center.

  • We are in search of a candidate who possesses outstanding clinical expertise, a strong enthusiasm for clinical research, and a keen interest in program development.
  • Key responsibilities encompass delivering clinical care, engaging in educational activities, contributing to the management of clinical programs, and furthering the research objectives of both the Division and the University. The role includes dedicated research time tailored to the applicant's interests and the needs of the division.

About the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology and the Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Center:

  • This Division operates a fully accredited CF Center and participates in the CF Foundation Therapeutics Development Network.
  • The CF Center has been honored with a Quality Award from the CF Foundation for two consecutive cycles.
  • We are the sole center in New York State, outside of New York City, associated with the Children's Interstitial and Diffuse Lung Disease Network (chILD).
  • We are expanding our programs in Severe Asthma, Aerodigestive, Neuromuscular Disease, and Complex Clinics, catering to numerous technology-dependent pediatric patients.
  • Clinical resources include state-of-the-art flexible fiberoptic bronchoscopy equipment and a pediatric-focused complete pulmonary function test (PFT) laboratory.
  • In addition to standard spirometry and body plethysmography, the PFT lab provides multiple breath washout/lung clearance index measures, oscillometry, and exhaled nitric oxide assessments.
  • These resources are designed to support both clinical practice and research initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • All appointment levels will be considered, with a preference for Assistant or Associate Professor levels based on qualifications and experience.
  • Candidates must possess an MD, DO, or equivalent degree, and be board-certified or eligible in pediatric pulmonology.
  • Experience or training in the clinical management of cystic fibrosis is essential. Proficiency in flexible fiberoptic bronchoscopy is also a requirement.
