Job Title: Electronic Technician

US Postal Service is seeking a skilled Electronic Technician to join our team. As an Electronic Technician, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic, preventive maintenance, alignment, and calibration tasks on mail processing, customer service, and building equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform complex testing, diagnosis, maintenance, alignments, and calibration of electronically operated or controlled equipment or systems.
  • Observe the operation of systems and equipment, and apply various testing and diagnostic methods and procedures to locate and correct malfunctions and/or failures.
  • Perform equipment inspections to assess the quality of service or maintenance received, and to discover incipient malfunctions.
  • Recommends changes to servicing and preventive maintenance activities, and assists in the revision of preventive maintenance and operator checklists.
  • Participates in the installation, removal, modification, assembly, and/or disassembly of systems and equipment.
  • Provides technical support to other employees in the facility or in installations within the area served.
  • Follows established safety practices and requirements while performing all duties.
Requirements:
  • Ability to demonstrate mechanical comprehension to learn and apply mechanical principles.
  • Knowledge of basic electricity principles, including Ohm's law, Kirchoff's law, AC-DC circuitry, relays, switches, and circuit breakers.
  • Knowledge of electronic principles, including basic logic gates, symbology, resistors, memory, encoders, decoders, etc.
  • Ability to follow safety and security procedures for performing maintenance work.
  • Knowledge of current computer technology to understand how technology may be applied to solve a problem or improve system design.
Working Conditions:

The selected candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to noise, dust, and other environmental hazards. The candidate must be able to lift, carry, and move equipment and tools, and work at heights.
