SHIFT DIFFERENTIALS (compensation varies based on hours worked)
- Evening Shift (3pm – 11:30pm) = 8%
- Night Shift (11:00pm – 7:30am) = 11%
- No Weekend Differential
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Administer respiratory therapy (standard/routine) to patients across all age demographics, from infants to adults, as prescribed. Clearly communicate the purpose and procedures of treatments, tests, and equipment to patients.
- Receive patient assignments. Review patient records and physician directives. Prepare equipment and medications, and deliver treatments as prescribed, including oxygen therapy, humidity treatment, airway management, resuscitation, mechanical ventilation, postural drainage, respiratory monitoring, intermittent positive pressure breathing, aerosol therapy, and pharmacological respiratory care. Document treatment, patient responses, and progress.
- Oversee environmental control systems. Set up and monitor equipment for patients requiring continuous ventilation. Perform nasotracheal and tracheal suctioning as needed.
- Conduct regular patient rounds. Assess patient conditions, check equipment functionality, and make necessary adjustments. Address issues as they arise. Discontinue therapy as directed and safely remove equipment from patient areas.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid and permanent license from the Idaho State Board of Medicine as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP)
- Registered with the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in an adult critical care environment within the last 5 years
- ICU experience within the last 3 years
- Current BLS certification
- PALS certification to be completed within three months of employment
- ACLS certification to be completed within three months of employment
- NRP certification to be completed within one year of employment
