Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our patients and their owners. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting DVMs and credentialed veterinary technicians with appointments, prepping patients for surgery, and performing minor procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist DVMs and credentialed veterinary technicians with appointments, prepping patients for surgery, and minor procedures.
  • Restrain animals in a safe, efficient, and caring manner.
  • Obtain accurate vitals, obtain medical histories, and/or note any changes of patient's condition to DVM.
  • Collect and prepare laboratory samples such as fecal, urine, and ear cytologies.
  • Care and maintenance of all medical equipment including laboratory machines, surgical packs, anesthesia machines, and any other tools that are essential to daily operations.
  • High quality client communication on patient updates and questions.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED certificate.
  • Flexible schedule including some weekend and vacation shifts.
  • Knowledge of medical procedures and animal handling.
  • Must possess strong communication skills, good judgment, and be able to manage stressful situations, and work with others on a team respectfully.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
