POSITION OVERVIEW:
Sensus is looking to recruit a Production Assembler and Painter for the Second Shift (nights). The successful candidate will be tasked with the following responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assemble turbine pumps of varying complexity.
- Interpret formal orders and Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Work from assembly schematics and layouts.
- Utilize hand and power tools effectively.
- Construct wooden crates and skids for pumps and components.
- Label crates according to order specifications.
- Verify orders for accuracy.
- Provide weights and dimensions to the export coordinator.
- Apply paint to pumps using standard and specialized coatings.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and 5S standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED, with a minimum of 1 year of relevant shop experience.
- Ability to read complex drawings and diagrams, and proficient in using scales, calipers, and other measuring tools.
- Familiarity with shop mathematics.
- General knowledge of the full range of pumps manufactured at the facility.
- At least 12 months of experience in assembly, testing, painting, and crating is required, along with competence in material handling using forklifts and cranes preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Capable of lifting heavy items up to 50 pounds.
- Regularly required to sit or stand, reach, bend, and navigate the work environment. Use of power tools is essential.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with colleagues on a daily basis.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Outdoor work setting with exposure to various environmental elements.
- Availability to work Monday through Saturday, with flexible hours ranging from early morning to late afternoon.
- Standard weekly job hours: 40 hours.
