A laborer plays a crucial role in supporting electricians with manual labor tasks, ensuring the smooth execution of projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Erect and disassemble scaffolding, shoring, braces, and other temporary structures to facilitate safe working conditions.
  • Load and unload trucks, distributing electrical materials, machinery, and tools to designated job site locations.
  • Haul and hoist materials, maintaining a safe and efficient workflow.
  • Dig ditches, move materials, and clean job sites as the project progresses, assisting electricians in their tasks.
  • Perform site clean-up duties, maintaining a tidy and organized work environment.
Working Conditions and Environment:

This position is physically demanding and requires working outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, rain, and snow. The laborer may work at heights, in areas under construction, or in restricted spaces, such as switchgear rooms or utility tunnels. The incumbent must be able to access work areas using O.S.H.A. approved site construction ladders or stairs.

The laborer must work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and night shifts, to meet project deadlines. A professional and courteous image is essential when interacting with customers and their representatives.

Requirements:
  • Prior work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is helpful but not required.
  • A high school degree or equivalent is necessary.
  • The incumbent must pass a background investigation and a drug test.
  • Reliable transportation is required, and the laborer must be willing to work for M.C. Dean, Inc.
Abilities:
  • Lift at least 100 pounds at one time and 60 pounds for an extended period.
  • Relocate a 12-foot stepladder without assistance.
  • Work at various heights up to 60 feet and climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and all types of ladders.
  • Walk, climb, lift, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and reach overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
  • Possess good vision (may be corrected), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
