We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) team at Advocate Health. As a critical care nurse, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care to our most medically complex patients.
Responsibilities- Deliver and coordinate comprehensive patient care through assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Utilize evidence-based practice and clinical decision-making to create a safe and supportive patient environment.
- Collaborate with a dedicated medical resident team and utilize state-of-the-art equipment, including the EICU, to provide high-quality patient care.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans to support the successful transition of patients to other healthcare delivery systems or their home communities.
- Participate in ongoing education and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in critical care nursing.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current IL RN license.
- BSN preferred, ADN acceptable with agreement for nurses with less than 12 months of experience to enroll in BSN completion program.
- At least 1 year of critical care RN experience, with 1 YR ICU or 2 YRS Tele experience preferred.
- Current AHA CPR and ACLS certification.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and different shifts in order to accommodate staffing.
- Ability to assist in evacuation of patients in the event of a fire or other disaster.
- Ability to respond to patients in a timely manner and access all areas of the unit.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance.
