EHS Specialist

This is a full-time position at Essential Cabinetry Group in Greenville, SC, responsible for ensuring environmental, health, and safety practices comply with OSHA, EPA, and other local and federal agencies. The EHS Specialist will develop and administer EHS strategies, create and coordinate programs to achieve a "zero injury" culture, and investigate incidents to identify root causes.

• Support the CARE values of the organization
• Coach department managers and supervisors on trends and unsafe behaviors
• Engage with front-line employees to create trust and understanding of safety processes
• Analyze incident history, behavioral trends, and hazard reports to create plant improvement strategies
• Investigate incidents and perform root cause analysis
• Assign and follow-up on action items resulting from incidents
• Coordinate with Workers Compensation Agency regarding incidents requiring medical treatment
• Track and update SDS and waste profile records
• Schedule and manage Safety Ambassador Teams
• Host ongoing trainings and post-incident stand downs

• Bachelor's Degree plus 2 years of documented EHS experience or 6 years of increasing EHS responsibilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Thorough understanding of Federal and State EHS regulations

The EHS Specialist works under the immediate supervision of the VP of Human Resources and communicates across all levels of the organization.

The position requires constant physical effort both inside and outside of an air-conditioned environment, including lifting/moving over 50 lbs, standing, walking, stooping, and performing motions for extended periods.
