Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Retail Sales Associate to join our team as a Cashier/Checker. As a key member of our store team, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, processing transactions accurately and efficiently, and maintaining a high level of product knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Service
    • Provide exceptional customer service by greeting, engaging, and assisting customers in a friendly and professional manner.
    • Respond to customer inquiries and resolve issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Transaction Processing
    • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently using the Point of Sale (POS) system.
    • Handle various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, complex loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures according to company policy.
  • Inventory Management
    • Understand and adhere to company policies and procedures for inventory management, including pricing discrepancies and restricted sale items.
    • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
  • Store Operations
    • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
    • Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues and notifying store management.
    • Practice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notifying the appropriate department or store manager of any items in need of repair.
  • Teamwork and Communication
    • Work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
    • Manage conflict in a reasonable, non-confrontational, and cooperative manner.
    • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
    • Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.

Requirements

  • Customer Service Experience
    • Previous experience in customer-facing roles, such as retail sales, customer service, or food service.
  • Communication Skills
    • Effective communication skills, including verbal and written communication.
  • Math Skills
    • Basic math skills, including counting, addition, and subtraction.

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous Job Experience
    • Previous experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk.
