About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Brand Manager - Strategy & Innovation to lead brand building initiatives across North America for the Household Care Portfolio. As a key member of our team, you will develop, gain support, and lead 3-5 year strategy & innovation plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enable sustainable delivery of business objectives for the brand, including net sales, operating profit, gross margin, and market share, driving more than half of future growth through innovation.
  • Support development of 3 Year Strategic Brand Plan.
  • Lead 5-year portfolio ensuring sufficiency, desirability, feasibility, and viability of HHC plan within total sector portfolio.
  • Leverage consumer, customer, and category insights to drive development of the brand strategy, architecture, and supporting innovation and renovation pipeline to deliver strategic business plan.
  • Lead brief development and continuous pipeline of innovation, renovation, and commercial news in partnership with R&E, I&A, design, sales, supply, and brand marketing.
  • Leverage knowledge of P&L and collaborate with finance and other partners to bring forward real-time recommendations that protect net sales and operating profit goals while solving issues facing the business.
  • Key liaison with channel and sales strategy as voice of the consumer and brand subject matter expert.
  • Drive development of channel-specific go-to-market strategies and plans to maximize presence in market (includes category management, shelving, and assortment strategies).
  • Develop annual portfolio learning plan to meet innovation objectives.
  • Identify and lead process improvements at the brand or portfolio level.
  • Champion for Design Thinking and agile methodologies across KCNA.
  • Lead the thinking on business model innovation including (but not limited to) import/export of winning innovation from K-C enterprise, agile concept and prototyping approaches, and resources, and digital test market leadership through established e-commerce channels.

About You

We are looking for a talented professional with a strong background in marketing and brand strategy. As a Brand Manager - Strategy & Innovation, you will be responsible for leading brand building initiatives and developing 3-5 year strategy & innovation plans. You will have a strong understanding of consumer insights, brand positioning, and brand strategy development. You will also have experience with P&L management, development, and execution of brand marketing, as well as cross-functional knowledge and direct experience in all aspects of business including manufacturing, product & technology development, and product supply.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business/Marketing. Master's/MBA with concentration in Marketing degree preferred.
  • At least 5+ years experience in marketing with brand management (B2B - CPG companies) and experience in the following areas:
  • P&L management; development and execution of brand marketing; cross-functional knowledge; direct experience in all various aspects of business including manufacturing, product & technology development, and product supply.
  • Solid understanding of annual business planning, budget setting, and subsequent execution of those plans to delivery results.
  • Strong understanding of brand foundational tools, consumer insight identification, segmentation, and target development.
  • Experience with brand positioning and brand strategy development.
  • Concept & Brief writing of both product innovation and renovation and commercial news.
  • Proven capability to lead in a matrix organization driving collaboration across businesses and functions.
  • Demonstrated capability in leading agency partners in long-term projects.
  • Ability to pull insights from multiple sources and synthesize into a compelling story for change.
  • Strong skills and experience with diagnosing and resolving complex problems and opportunities.
  • Entrepreneur can-do attitude to find ways to break down growth barriers.
  • Demonstrated positive energy to effectively represent brand internally and externally.
  • Travel 10-20% of the work time.
