Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Perinatal Sonographer II to join our team at UnityPoint Health. As a key member of our Perinatal Services department, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures with a high level of technical expertise and independence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures on obstetrical patients, including fetal echocardiography and other specialized exams.
  • Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
  • Collaborate with Perinatologists to interpret ultrasound images and provide technical support for procedures.
  • Provide excellent patient care and communication, ensuring patients understand the examination process and results.
  • Coordinate patient scheduling and workflow to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Maintain knowledge of ultrasound technology and best practices, staying up-to-date with industry developments.
  • Assist in the educational training of student ultrasound technologists and contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technology program or equivalent experience.
  • ARDMS registration in OB/GYN and CPR certification required.
  • Fetal Echo certification within 2 years of hire.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in electronic medical records.
