About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our team at Circle, a leading financial technology company. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure estate to meet the growing needs of our worldwide customer base.

You will work closely with our development teams to ensure that our products and core systems are running consistently, reasonably, and in a performant manner. Key Responsibilities
  • Cloud Infrastructure Management: Design, build, and maintain our cloud infrastructure estate using IaC tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible.
  • CI/CD Platform Support: Support multiple development teams with an agile, responsive CI/CD platform to deliver high-quality builds with measurable performance and quality.
  • Automation and Scripting: Automate operational tasks via Go, Python, and serverless solutions such as AWS Lambda and Kubernetes Jobs.
  • Kubernetes Cluster Management: Design, manage, and monitor Kubernetes clusters for multiple production workloads.
  • Blockchain Infrastructure: Drive forward our blockchain infrastructure by creating and managing blockchain nodes across a wide variety of blockchains.
  • On-Call Rotation: Participate in an on-call rotation to mitigate disruption for any production systems and conduct root cause analysis.
  • Disaster Recovery Planning: Plan and test disaster recovery scenarios for a highly available microservices architecture.
  • Security Collaboration: Collaborate with the Security team to create and maintain security-focused tools and frameworks and exert a top-class security posture.
  • Team Growth and Development: Engage and mentor team members and help grow and scale the team.
Requirements
  • 4+ Years of Experience: 4+ years in DevOps or SRE roles, with a focus on tooling, automation, and infrastructure on a major public cloud provider.
  • Coding and Scripting Skills: Proficiency with coding and/or scripting with the following languages: Go, Python, Shell.
  • CI/CD Experience: At least 3 years of combined experience in building and maintaining CI/CD platforms and supporting agile engineering teams in building microservices.
Desirable Skills
  • Docker and Kubernetes: Building Docker images and deploying containers in Kubernetes clusters.
  • CI/CD Platforms: Any modern CI/CD platform with seemingly complex gates and workflows.
  • Deployment Strategies: Blue-Green, Canary, and A/B Testing deployment strategies.
  • Blockchain Systems: Distributed blockchain systems, running and maintaining blockchain full nodes.
  • Database Technologies: Database technologies such as PostgreSQL, Redis, and OpenSearch.
  • Data Warehousing: Migrating and transforming large, complex datasets from diverse sources, structures, and formats.
  • Data Warehousing Tooling: Data warehousing tooling and services such as Apache Airflow, AWS DMS, and Snowflake.
  • Networking and Security: Knowledge of networking routing, DNS, load balancing, and edge networking, as well as APM, RUM, monitoring, and telemetry tools.
  • Helm Charts and Kubernetes: Helm charts and deploying and maintaining Kubernetes clusters.
  • IaC and Cloud Providers: Authoring and maintaining IaC with Terraform and using IaC to deploy resources in AWS, Azure, GCP, or any other public cloud providers.
  • Observability and Troubleshooting: Strong skills around observability, troubleshooting, and performance solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Ability and eagerness to deep dive into understanding, debugging, and improving any layer of the tech stack, as well as exhibit strong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to peers and stakeholders.
What We Offer
  • Competitive Compensation: Competitive base pay range: $147,500 - $195,000.
  • Annual Bonus: Annual bonus target: 12.5%.

  • Paid Time Off: 10 days of paid sick leave per year and 11 paid holidays per year in the U.S.
