Work Schedule:

Responsibilities:
The MDS/RAI Specialist will be responsible for:
- Accurately completing the RAI process and conducting resident interviews for assigned individuals
- Participating in resident care conferences
- Reviewing medical charts and admission information
- Reporting concerns to the appropriate Clinical Coordinator
- Attending discharge meetings as directed.

Qualifications:
Education:
- Registered Nurse training, with a preference for certification in Gerontology.
Experience:
- A minimum of three years of experience in long-term care, with familiarity in PPS, third-party payors, MDS processes, case mix, Medicare, and care planning.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of State and Federal regulations, including the Resident Assessment Instrument
- Extensive knowledge of case mix and Medicare, HMO's, and managed care
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in ICD9/10 diagnosis coding
- Strong time management and prioritization skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with nursing staff and other departments
- Proficient in software applications (Microsoft, ROX, Facility Software, Excel)
- Commitment to improving quality of care and maintaining respectful relationships.
