The Nuclear Medicine Technologist plays a crucial role in the healthcare team by utilizing radionuclides for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. This professional possesses advanced capabilities to execute a diverse range of nuclear medicine procedures, manage data processing, and perform essential technical tasks to generate images for evaluation by licensed practitioners. The technologist applies professional judgment throughout the service delivery and upholds a demeanor that aligns with medical ethics while ensuring optimal patient care during procedures.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Conduct nuclear medicine procedures with precision and care.
  • Process and analyze data to produce high-quality images for diagnostic interpretation.
  • Maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards in all procedures.

Qualifications Required:

  • A minimum of 6 months of relevant experience within the last year, or at least 2 years of full-time experience with no more than a 1-year gap in nuclear medicine practice.
  • Completion of an AMA-approved training program for radiologic technologists.
  • Certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board upon hire.
  • California Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification upon hire.
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of experience in nuclear medicine, unless a recent graduate from an accredited technician training program.
