Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Millwright Apprentice to join our team at Hampton Lumber. As a Millwright Apprentice, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment and facilities in our sawmill operations.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on machinery and equipment
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment and facilities
- Work safely and maintain a safe work environment for yourself and others
- Establish a working relationship with maintenance, production, and management personnel to achieve the goals of the organization
- Assist production personnel to maintain the flow of product
- Follow Company lockout, safety, and work standards
- Attend any training necessary to upgrade performance
- Operate machinery in a safe manner so injury does not occur to operator or any employee in the area
- Notify supervisor of any problems that arise during the shift
- Train any employees as assigned by supervisor
- Work overtime as necessary
- Clean shop and maintain proper housekeeping to promote a safe work environment
- Kit projects and restock shelves
- A minimum of 1-year mechanical experience is preferred
- Must hold and/or obtain Hampton PIT, chainsaw, and fall protection
- Have experience and/or exposure to welding, cutting, troubleshooting equipment and systems, maintaining working components, operating machinery, understanding pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and use of all tools relate to the trade
