Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Millwright Apprentice to join our team at Hampton Lumber. As a Millwright Apprentice, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment and facilities in our sawmill operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on machinery and equipment
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment and facilities
  • Work safely and maintain a safe work environment for yourself and others
  • Establish a working relationship with maintenance, production, and management personnel to achieve the goals of the organization
  • Assist production personnel to maintain the flow of product
  • Follow Company lockout, safety, and work standards
  • Attend any training necessary to upgrade performance
  • Operate machinery in a safe manner so injury does not occur to operator or any employee in the area
  • Notify supervisor of any problems that arise during the shift
  • Train any employees as assigned by supervisor
  • Work overtime as necessary
  • Clean shop and maintain proper housekeeping to promote a safe work environment
  • Kit projects and restock shelves
Requirements
  • A minimum of 1-year mechanical experience is preferred
  • Must hold and/or obtain Hampton PIT, chainsaw, and fall protection
  • Have experience and/or exposure to welding, cutting, troubleshooting equipment and systems, maintaining working components, operating machinery, understanding pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and use of all tools relate to the trade
