Job Description:

The L3Harris Technologies Tactical Communications SW engineering group is seeking a skilled audio software engineer to join its team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in real-time programming, VOCODERs, and VoIP, as well as experience with embedded software development and C and C++ programming.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with an Agile Scrum team to develop software for advanced tactical radio equipment.
  • Design, develop, and test embedded software for software defined radio products, including real-time and near real-time controls.
  • Develop and conduct software system testing procedures, programming, and documentation.
  • Provide technical support to internal and external customers, including factory software introduction support and manufacturing issue resolution.
  • Work in a CMMI Level 3 environment and obtain a US security clearance.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience debugging audio hardware setups, including speaker, microphone, and common audio processing pipelines.
  • Knowledge of industry speech codecs, including MELP/MELPe, G.711, and AMR (GSM/NB).
  • Familiarity with common audio formats, such as WAV/PCM.
  • Experience providing guidance, coaching, and training to other employees.
  • Experience with C, C++, and object-oriented design.
  • Experience with networking-specific audio protocols (RTP, VoIP), including familiarity with configuration of unicast and multicast to support these protocols.
  • Experience implementing and debugging audio vocoder code to specification.
  • Experience in embedded firmware development with bare-metal and RTOS environments.

Compensation: The salary range for this role is $78,000 - $145,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
