Job Overview:

As a key member of the healthcare team, the Physician Assistant in Urogynecology plays a vital role in delivering comprehensive patient care. This position involves collaboration with a Physician/Physician Assistant team to ensure effective diagnosis, treatment, and patient management in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The role also encompasses educational responsibilities, case management, and consultation with the multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough patient evaluations to establish diagnoses and treatment plans.
  • Order and analyze medical diagnostics in collaboration with supervising physicians.
  • Prescribe necessary medications, therapies, and medical devices.
  • Provide patient education focused on chronic illness management and wellness.
  • Engage in a multidisciplinary approach to address complex health conditions.
  • Assist in surgical procedures including vaginal, laparoscopic, and robotic-assisted surgeries.
  • Act as a referral resource across the healthcare network.
  • Work in partnership with patients to enhance their health outcomes.
  • Utilize Excellian, a comprehensive electronic medical record system.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Certification as a Physician Assistant from the NCCPA.
  • Licensure as a Physician Assistant in Minnesota required upon hire.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain MN DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI).
  • Meet credentialing and hospital privilege requirements as applicable.
  • BLS Tier 3 certification required within 180 days of hire.
  • Full-time availability with a combination of clinic and surgical schedules.
  • Flexibility to cover multiple healthcare sites as needed.
