About the Role:

The Cyber Innovation, Analytics & Operations Department within the Communications, Information and Navigation Office (CINO) at the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) is seeking a talented Data Scientist to assist in providing state-of-the-art solutions to its customers.

As a Data Scientist, you will research, develop, and deliver algorithmic, machine learning, and artificial intelligence-based approaches to solve complex sponsor problems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and research machine learning systems, models, and schemes
  • Study, transform, and apply state-of-the-art machine learning prototypes to sponsor-specific domains, collection, and data modeling
  • Visualize data for deeper insights
  • Generate and present technical research reports and briefings
  • Perform statistical analysis in support of pattern of life and anomaly detection
  • Build high-quality software prototypes integrated with our various research and pre-production software environments

Requirements:

  • Minimally requires a Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Science discipline
  • Supervise the work of lower-level staff and undergraduate students
  • Perform tasks of a larger scope and lead specific tasks within the project scope
  • Data science/algorithm development
  • Data science/Machine Learning languages to include Python
  • Research, development, and implementation of machine learning models
  • Training and optimizing ML algorithms on GPU hardware architectures, specifically NVIDIA-based
  • Statistics, linear algebra, and data structures
  • Exploratory data analysis and visualization
  • Data science/Machine Learning tools to include Pandas, PyTorch/TensorFlow, NumPy, MatPlotLib, SQL, FastAPI
  • Software Development tools to include Git, Docker, Kubernetes, SSH
