We are seeking a dedicated surgical dental assistant to provide essential support to our team of oral surgeons during surgical interventions. Your role will involve applying assisting techniques and principles under the guidance of an oral surgeon, while also offering compassionate care to a diverse range of patients. To excel in this position, you should possess strong organizational skills and a keen awareness of patients' needs. An exemplary surgical dental assistant will have a thorough understanding of oral surgery protocols and demonstrate exceptional hand-eye coordination.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilizing X-ray and 3D imaging technology for diagnostic assessments.
  • Preparing and sterilizing surgical tools, materials, and equipment in compliance with infection control and safety standards.
  • Assisting the surgeon with all chair-side tasks, including operatory setup, anesthesia administration, and post-procedure cleanup.
  • Preparing patients for surgical procedures and monitoring their vital signs throughout.
  • Overseeing the inventory of surgical supplies and medications, ensuring timely replenishment.
  • Maintaining the functionality and cleanliness of instruments and equipment.
  • Delivering exceptional patient care consistently.
Position Requirements

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience as a dental assistant or in a similar oral surgery role.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to manage multiple tasks.
  • Empathetic and caring demeanor.
  • Collaborative team player with effective communication skills.
Essential Requirements:
  • Valid X-ray certification for the state of Maryland.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
  • Experience in dental or oral surgery assisting.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to various locations as needed.
