Radiology Technologist Job Description

Core Staffing Service is seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team. As a Radiology Technologist, you will be responsible for administering ionizing radiation to patients to produce diagnostic radiographs. You will operate x-ray equipment, prepare patient exam rooms, and perform technical and ancillary tasks necessary to provide patient services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer ionizing radiation to patients to produce diagnostic radiographs
  • Operate x-ray equipment and prepare patient exam rooms
  • Perform technical and ancillary tasks necessary to provide patient services
  • Prepare patients for examination, explain procedures, and position patients for exams
  • Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures according to department policies and utilizing accepted techniques for patient positioning, exposure control, and radiation protection
  • Observe and critique radiographs utilizing appropriate equipment
  • Monitor patients' conditions during exams and report unusual occurrences to supervisors
  • Perform portable diagnostic radiographic procedures as required
  • Adhere to radiation safety procedures
  • On-call for 3rd shift/holidays/weekends as scheduled
  • Maintain cleanliness of patient exam rooms and other work areas
  • Keep examination rooms stocked with necessary supplies and accessories
  • Perform patient reception, registration, requisition processing, and filing in absence of or in conjunction with ancillary staff
  • Other duties assigned
  • Complete annual educational requirements, attend inservices, and meetings when required
  • Adhere to dress code, appearance is neat and clean
  • Maintain current knowledge of ethical business practices and hospital policies and adhere to all policies
  • Adhere to all HIPAA and DHHS privacy and security regulations
  • Report to work on time and as scheduled, complete work within designated time
  • Wear identification while on duty, use computerized punch time system correctly
  • Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner
  • Support CMH on the continuous culture improvement journey aimed at improving customer satisfaction and employee relations
  • Accountability to provide service excellence to our patients and co-workers
Requirements:
  • Associate degree or equivalent from accredited program in radiologic technology
  • Certification and licensed through IEMA and ARRT required
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
