Job Overview

The Associate Principal Scientist, Health Economics role is a key position within MSD Malaysia that focuses on strategic development and utilization of high-quality economic models to generate business insights and demonstrate the value of our company's products to relevant stakeholders.

This position serves as the lead for Health Economic and Decision Sciences (HEDS) on one or more value evidence teams and works closely with cross-functional teams to develop and refine the integrated value evidence strategy and evidence generation across all phases of product development.

  • Provide strategic insights into the development and refinement of the integrated value evidence strategy and evidence generation from a health economics perspective.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality global health economic analyses and tools in-house or in collaboration with external vendors to provide critical business insights and fully demonstrate the value of our company's products.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to conduct evidence generation and synthesis studies that inform economic models and the value evidence strategy.
  • Adapt and/or train global health economic resources for regional/local HEOR teams to support local HTA submissions and market access activities.
  • Disseminate health economic data via presentations at national/international congresses and publications in scientific journals.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree or master's degree in Health Economics, Biostatistics, Actuarial Sciences, or a related quantitatively oriented field.
  • Expertise and hands-on experience in conceptualization, design, development, and dissemination of health economic analyses to support internal and external decision-making.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) in the pharmaceutical industry, consultancy, or relevant organizations.
  • Understanding of the market access environment and challenges in key markets.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to interact with individuals from various disciplines.

Compensation and Benefits

$168,450 - $265,100 per year, including bonus eligibility, long-term incentive if applicable, healthcare and other insurance benefits (for employee and family), retirement benefits, paid holidays, vacation, and sick days.
