Job Summary

Ochsner Health System is seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our Diagnostic Imaging team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing high-quality MRI scans, ensuring patient safety, and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify physician orders and procedures to ensure accuracy
  • Operate MRI equipment to complete imaging procedures according to protocol
  • Review patient images prior to transmission to ensure diagnostic quality standards
  • Perform quality control procedures and notify management of any issues
  • Assist in departmental operations, including inventory management and staff scheduling
  • Adapt behavior to meet the specific needs of patients, including respect for patient privacy and communication style
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 6 months of supervised MRI clinical scanning experience required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required
  • ARRT registered or unlimited state license required
  • Advanced certification in MRI required within two years of employment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Clinical MRI experience preferred
  • Advanced certification in MRI preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of MRI procedures and technical language
  • Ability to work with and maintain strict confidentiality
  • Ability to work flexible schedules and travel between facilities
Physical and Environmental Demands

The physical demands of this role include exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluid, and tissue.
