Job Summary

University Orthopedics is seeking a skilled Orthopedic Technician - DME Fitter to join our team. As a key member of our orthopedic department, you will be responsible for fitting and instructing patients on the use of durable medical equipment (DME) products. Your expertise will ensure that patients receive the best possible care and support in their recovery journey.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of DME products and their applications, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will work closely with patients, healthcare staff, and other stakeholders to provide exceptional patient care and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fitting and instructing patients on the use of DME products
  • Providing education on insurance plans and financial responsibilities
  • Assisting staff and physicians in problem-solving related to DME products
  • Recording patient details and completing necessary documentation
  • Interfacing with the billing department to resolve issues related to DME bills

Requirements:

  • Eligibility for RI licensure as a PTA, OTA, ATC, or 1 year of orthopedic medical experience and/or DME experience
  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately, with attention to detail
