Salary Range: $129,455 - $167,530 per year

**Job Description**

A Security and Risk Management Lead Engineer plays a critical role in identifying and mitigating security and availability risks for U.S. Bank's hosting infrastructure. This position requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of operational security practices, compliance regulations, and risk management principles. They will be responsible for driving security initiatives, participating in compliance and risk assessments, and providing technical guidance to teams.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Driving security initiatives for hosting infrastructure
  • Understanding operational security practices (scanning, detection, reporting, patching, etc.)
  • Participating in compliance and risk assessments
  • Identifying and mitigating security and compliance risks
  • Providing research and analysis related to vulnerability resolution
  • Proactively identifying, assessing, and mitigating reliability risks in hosting infrastructure
  • Monitoring performance and driving ongoing availability and compliance improvements
  • Collaborating with partners to influence product design and improvements to increase reliability and compliance
  • Analyzing data and producing reports
  • Analyzing failures and remediating findings
  • Serving as a subject matter expert and providing technical leadership on security and reliability engineering best practices
  • Developing and maintaining documentation

**Required Skills and Qualifications**

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • At least 10 years of experience with the concepts, philosophies, and tools behind the design of applications, information, and underlying information technologies
  • At least 10 years of experience with developing and implementing applications
  • Strong technical expertise in security and risk management
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
