Job Summary

At Ducommun, we're seeking a skilled Welder to play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of our products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Reads and follows work order instructions to ensure accurate and efficient production.
  • Interprets welding blueprints and specifications to determine equipment and layout requirements.
  • Selects and operates welding equipment, including thermal cutting and grinding tools, to achieve high-quality welds.
  • Examines work periodically to verify that deposited welds and pertinent dimensions are within specified limits.
  • Cleans and degreases weld joints as necessary to ensure optimal welding conditions.
  • Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area.
Requirements:
  • Ability to operate a forklift and overhead crane/hoist to move equipment and materials.
  • Read and understand internal procedures and policies to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Understand and follow through on both verbal and written instructions to ensure accurate completion of tasks.
  • Basic computer knowledge and skills to learn new software programs and reports.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, with up to 3 years of related experience in welding operations.
  • One-year certificate from a college or technical school in a related field, such as welding technology.
  • Welding certification testing completed or skills to become certified within a reasonable period of time.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
  • Basic computer knowledge and skills.
