We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician to join our team at Genesee County Animal Control. As a key member of our animal care team, you will provide high-quality veterinary care and support to animals in our shelter.
Responsibilities- Assist veterinarians in providing medical care and treatment to animals
- Monitor animal health and report any changes or concerns to veterinarians
- Administer vaccinations and medications as directed by veterinarians
- Facilitate the use of controlled substances and train staff on proper documentation
- Participate in animal cruelty investigations and provide medical expertise
- Complete medical records and reports as necessary
- Bachelor's degree in veterinary technology or animal science from an AVMA-approved program
- Or Associate degree in veterinary technology or animal science from an AVMA-approved program and 2 years' experience as a veterinarian technician
- Licensed by the State of Michigan as a Veterinarian Technician
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and possess a valid Michigan driver's license
This is a full-time position that requires working weekends, holidays, and irregular hours. You must be willing to work in a fast-paced environment and provide excellent customer service to the public.
