We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. Key Responsibilities
- Operate x-ray equipment to produce radiographs of designated portions of the body as ordered by a physician
- Accountable for the performance and documentation of all diagnostic procedures utilizing proper technical parameters to produce quality studies
- Knowledgeable in the safe use, maneuverability, and operation of all general radiography, portable, fluoro, C-arm, and O-arm equipment
- Proficient in the performance of general diagnostic, general fluoroscopy, GI, Pain, Urology, C-arm, and O-arm procedures
- Adhere to infection prevention, isolation, and sterile techniques as it applies in patient handling and delivery of care
- Adhere to ALARA principles in performance of exams to reduce exposure to self, the patient, and others
- Utilize proper patient identification to ensure the correct exam is performed on the correct patient at the correct time
- Obtain and record pertinent patient history, explain the procedure to the patient in a manner to ensure understanding, ensure patient comfort during performance of the exam
- Adhere to department standards of radiographic quality
- Review radiographs to ensure optimum quality
- Report environmental/equipment problems to appropriate resource personnel
- Perform required computer functions for RIS/HIS systems
- Label all radiographs appropriately following department's established criteria and standards
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
- IEMA Accreditation in Radiologic Technology
- Current ARRT (RT) Certification
- 1 year experience and proficient in the performance of general diagnostic, general fluoroscopy, GI, Pain, Urology, C-arm, and O-arm procedures
Working Conditions
- Ability to work weekends and holidays in order to accommodate patient care needs
- Ability to work rotating shift any day of the week
- Ability to take call and arrive on site within one hour
- May be exposed to radiation during procedures
- May be required to sit or stand for long periods of time or be required to lift and move patients
- May be exposed to hazardous materials, infectious disease, and required to participate in annual emergency drills
- Required to maintain current CPR certification
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance
