Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Critical Care Tech to join our team at Houston Healthcare. As a Critical Care Tech, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with patient care activities, including ADLs, specimen collection, and vital sign collection.
  • Transport patients and assist with patient preparation for procedures.
  • Participate in unit-specific procedures and tasks that require documented competencies.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care and support.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved State Technical College program in patient care assisting, licensed practical nursing, medical assistant, emergency medical technician, or paramedic.
  • Two years of experience as a patient care tech or similar title in a hospital or healthcare facility.
  • Current AHA/ARC BLS certification and completion of the Rhythm Interpretation Course CLEP test or classroom course.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • GA Certified Nursing Assistant certification or experience as a medical technician or hospital corpsman in the U.S. Armed Forces.
  • Current PEARS (Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization) certification.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required ortho education/training as mandated in the Houston Healthcare Joint Destination Center of Excellence Policy.
