Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Admissions Recruiter to join our team at Valdosta State University. As a key member of our admissions team, you will be responsible for recruiting students and providing assistance and advice in relation to the admissions process.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment and Outreach
Visit schools and colleges to make presentations to groups and individuals, and develop partnerships between the university and other institutions.
Student Support
Provide information to students and families regarding educational opportunities and options, admission and other requirements, policies and procedures, transfer of credit, and financial assistance, as appropriate.
Event Planning
Conduct campus tours and represent the Admissions Department during Orientation, and plan and execute recruitment events to maximize outreach and resources.
Supervisor Expectations
- Represent Valdosta State University via a variety of events within the assigned territory, including transfer fairs, adult and military program events, college presentations, etc.
- Manage the recruitment efforts within the primary and secondary markets of the assigned territory by reviewing the strategic recruitment goals of the admissions office, using historical data and information to determine a recruitment plan, and planning and executing recruitment events to maximize outreach and resources.
- Be included in the in-house weekly rotation as the in-house counselor for the week, including campus tour presentations, meeting with prospective students and families, and assisting in day-to-day operations.
- Serve as the primary admissions contact for transfer, transient, post-bacc, and adult and military program students.
- Represent Valdosta State University through on-campus events such as Campus tours, Presentations, Open House, Accepted Student Day, as well as Blazer Beginnings Orientation.
- Develop relationships with partner institutions and community-based organizations within the territory, helping them to understand admissions policies and learn about opportunities for their students.
- Extensively use technology to maximize new student engagement from inquiry to enrollment, compiling and analyzing data used in making informed decisions regarding targeted recruitment and outreach strategies and efforts for assigned territory.
Required Qualifications
Required Experience
Bachelor's degree and one (1) year of related work experience.
