Speech-Language Pathologist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to provide exceptional speech and language therapy services to students in Buchanan, Virginia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments to identify speech and language needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students in one-on-one and group settings.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to monitor and support student progress.
  • Maintain detailed records of therapy sessions and adjust intervention plans based on student progress.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, providing professional input and recommendations.
  • Stay up-to-date with current research and best practices in speech-language pathology.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Valid Virginia State License in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Virginia Clinical or Rehabilitative Services Credential in Speech-Language Pathology (or eligibility for this credential).
  • Previous experience in a school setting is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
