Job Title: Optometric Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Optometric Technician to join our team at Amtec. As an Optometric Technician, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our doctors in delivering world-class eye care services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Warmly greet patients and prepare them for pre-testing and exams.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and transcribing messages.
  • Conduct pre-testing, including blood pressure, NCT, color, and stereo and auto-perimetry.
  • Advocate for overall health evaluation and collect pertinent health and ocular history from patients.
  • Conduct contact lens insertion and removal training and order various types of contact lenses.
  • Maintain and clean equipment and doctor's lanes, as well as ensure proper levels of pre-test and doctor's supplies.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated flexibility in addressing a broad spectrum of patient requirements and preferences.
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate positive patient rapport and build relationships while increasing patient retention.
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written) with the proven ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to multitask, set priorities, and ensure that patient commitments and deadlines are met.
  • Proficiency in the utilization of automated equipment and systems standards in the optometry industry.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in the Ophthalmic/Optometric/medical industry is a plus but not required.
  • Amenable to reporting on-site.
Physical Requirements:
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Must be physically able to stand for long periods of time, read a computer screen for long periods of time, reach and lift up to 20lbs, and have hand dexterity and eye and hand coordination.
