About the Role

Farnsworth Group is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in St. Louis, MO, Denver, CO, or Peoria/Champaign, IL. As an Electrical Engineer - Energy & Utilities, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for industrial, oil and gas, advanced manufacturing, and renewable energy markets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electrical systems, including power distribution, controls, renewable energy systems, medium voltage systems, substations, lighting, and communications.
  • Conduct code research and apply relevant codes and standards.
  • Perform fieldwork to ascertain existing conditions and develop preliminary schematics through final designs.
  • Calculate electrical system requirements and specify equipment.
  • Coordinate with other production staff and engineering disciplines.
  • Prepare accurate electrical system construction drawings and specifications.
  • Review submittals and administer construction.
  • Perform power systems studies.
Requirements
  • 4-8 years of experience in technically complex system design.
  • BS in Electrical Engineering. EIT designation required, Professional Engineer License (PE) preferred.
  • Wide range of design experience, including industrial power distribution, controls, and MV systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically with others and work on multiple, simultaneous projects.
  • Ability to solve complex power engineering problems.
  • Experience in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications
  • NCEES Record holder preferred.
  • Knowledge of Navisworks software preferred.
  • Knowledge of SKM PowerTools, Easy Power, and/or ETAP preferred.
