FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position Overview:
Under close supervision, the Custodian is responsible for performing a variety of general cleaning tasks to maintain a safe and sanitary environment. This role involves utilizing appropriate materials and techniques to ensure cleanliness and safety in all areas.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Clean, dust, and sanitize furniture and surfaces.
2. Sweep, mop, or vacuum floors to maintain cleanliness.
3. Empty and clean waste receptacles and trash bins.
4. Sanitize restrooms and ensure they are well-stocked with supplies.
5. Assist in setting up spaces for meetings and events.
6. Follow safety protocols for the use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
7. Clean windows and blinds as needed.
8. Perform additional tasks and special projects as assigned.

Essential Functions:
These duties are critical to the role and must be performed effectively.

Qualifications:
• Ability to handle a variety of cleaning chemicals safely.
• Proficiency in operating custodial equipment.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and retrieval.
• Interpersonal skills to foster effective working relationships.

Education:
No specific educational requirements.

Certificates:
A valid driver's license may be required based on local regulations.

Physical Demands:
Employees must be capable of performing the following physical activities for extended periods:
- Moving throughout the worksite
- Standing and walking
- Bending, kneeling, and reaching
- Lifting objects weighing up to 35 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds
- Maneuvering equipment such as vacuums and carts
- Climbing ladders or step stools

Work Environment:
This position is performed in an office setting or at various client locations. Employees may encounter exposure to cleaning chemicals, noise from equipment, and varying indoor and outdoor temperatures.
