The Registered Nurse is responsible for coordinating, supervising, and ensuring safe and professional nursing care for patients in the PACU. Key responsibilities include:
- Demonstrating accountability for direct patient care, utilizing the nursing process to prioritize and evaluate care outcomes.
- Exhibiting strong communication and customer service skills with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Participating in discharge planning and initiatives to reduce readmissions.
- Documenting all aspects of patient care accurately and efficiently.
- Delegating patient care tasks to licensed and non-licensed staff based on patient needs and staff qualifications.
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:
- A Bachelor's or Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Six months to one year of clinical experience in an acute care environment is preferred.
- Completion of the Trauma Nursing Core Course within 60 months of employment.
