Position Overview:
As a Med-Surg Nursing Assistant, you will engage in a variety of essential patient care tasks, alongside cleaning and organizing duties, all under the guidance of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse (LPN).
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide non-professional patient care to ensure comfort and well-being.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized environment for patients.
- Work collaboratively with nursing staff to support patient care activities.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Certification as a Nursing Assistant, registered with the Division of Facility Services Registry.
- If classified as NAII, must be recognized by the NC Board of Nursing.
- Ability to comprehend and follow simple instructions, as well as maintain basic records.
- BLS certification is mandatory within the first week of employment.
- CPI training is required within three months of starting.
- Proficient in basic clerical tasks and familiar with standard office equipment.
- Must demonstrate age-specific competency for patients, including adults and geriatrics.
Preferred Qualifications:
- NAII certification is highly regarded.
Experience:
No prior experience is necessary. With adequate training and hands-on experience, you should achieve proficiency in the fundamental aspects of the role within three months.
